About us
A family story.
A home in Porto. An Atlantic soul.
A serene luxury hotel with an Atlantic soul. Less artifice, more authenticity and closeness.
The story begins before the hotel
Every name holds a beginning. That of Debrais starts with a family. In the village of Avión, in Galicia, there lived a man called Brais. He was so well known and cherished that those close to him came to be recognised as the family of Brais. Over time, the expression became Debrais: a name made of memory, belonging and affection, which crossed generations and today gives rise to a new home in Porto.
Not as a homage bound to the past, but as a way of continuing it.
A symbol that returns
The identity of the hotel also holds a trace of Avión: a stone found in the Castro de San Vicenzo, marked by an embolated cross with circles at the ends of its arms. Reinterpreted in the logo of Debrais Boutique Hotel, the shape evokes protection, balance and community — a link between the family origin and the home that now welcomes guests in Porto.
Debrais could only be born here
Between Galicia and Porto lies a shared North. The same Atlantic, a landscape of granite and green, families crossing borders, long unhurried meals and a warm way of welcoming. On Avenida da Boavista, Debrais finds the right relationship with the city: central, yet sheltered from noise; contemporary, without losing its roots; close, without excess.
A home that recognises those who arrive
At Debrais Boutique Hotel, hospitality begins with a simple gesture: recognising the other. Understanding their rhythm, anticipating what can make the stay more comfortable and caring without interrupting. Luxury does not need to announce itself. It reveals itself in the light, in the right silence, in the quality of the materials and in the discreet presence of an attentive team.
Design
Pure lines, generous light and discreet yet warm elegance. Diego Rodríguez’s design gives shape to this idea with a residential atmosphere, created to be lived in.
The table
At Debrais, the table extends hospitality. Ramón Freixa Porto transforms the meeting between the Atlantic and the Mediterranean into author cuisine with a sense of place, led by Ramón Freixa and brought to life daily in Porto with Jorge Bolito, his right hand.
Interlude — Letters to the Atlantic
From the family: There are hotels that receive. Debrais recognises.
From the light: We do not decorate with the Atlantic. We are Atlantic.
